What a fun weekend!

We had a great weekend! The weather was sunny and in the 70's this past Saturday...and we sure enjoyed it! We put Caden on the grass for the first time - he kept kicking his legs because the grass was poking him. He seemed like he had a good time! Here's a few pictures we took at Joel and Heather's house on Saturday!


I love this summer outfit on him...Matt isn't completely sure about it. :-)

This Sunday was also the first time Caden used his high chair! He sat in it while we ate dinner - for about 30 minutes! We had toys there to occupy him of course. In just a couple more weeks we will be introducing his first solid foods - I'm sure those pictures will be hilarious!!

Another first time adventure on Sunday night - first time in his activity center...the seat moves around the center table. Once he starts walking around with support, I imagine he will be going in circles all the time! As you can see however, his little feet are still quite a ways off the ground... :-)

And finally.....a video of Caden trying to roll over. He has the leg motion...but can't quite figure out the arm thing yet. Usually his arm or his big belly holds him up. :-) Check out the chunky legs!! He is about 16 pounds right now - quite the big boy for 3.5 months!

Happy Easter!

Here's a couple pictures from Caden's first Easter. He had quite the adventure today - his first trip to the dog park. We loaded Mom, Dad, Caden, and the two dogs into the vibe and headed for Barstow Woods, right near our house. The dogs were beyond excited because they haven't gone to the dog park since the fall. It went very well and Caden appeared to enjoy the nice weather! What did we learn from this experience? We need a truck.



After the dog park, we came home and had dinner. Caden was entertained by Matt and I cooking in the kitchen...

New Pictures and a video!

Here's a few updated pictures, and a fun video! Caden is smiling all the time now. It's hard to get a picture because our camera has a double flash. He is smiling ear to ear, but then he sees the first flash, and changes to a very serious face right in time for the 2nd flash and the picture. :-)

Here's an example - were were cheering on the MSU Spartans in the NCAA Tournament...Caden was all smiles....until we took the picture:

Caden loves to play with his links - so much so that he fell asleep still holding them today:

It took 5 trips, but we got a picture at Dow Gardens with Caden's eyes open!

Caden was sick for the first time this week. He has Bronchitis and we have to do breathing treatments with him 4x per day. He is getting better, and is his usual happy self now - he just has a cough. The first day he got sick, last Monday, he was way more tired and obviously not feeling well. I snapped this picture of Matt and Caden taking a nap together. Daddy made it all better! :-) We are hoping to be able to quit the breathing treatments early next week.

Here's a video we took this week. Caden has been scratching his head a lot lately. Perhaps he is contemplating something very important...or perhaps it's mom not putting baby oil on his head frequently enough. :-) Regardless, in this video you can see his adorable smile. :-)
