Patience Required

We had our weekly doctor appointment on Monday and I'm still not dilated, but I am almost completely effaced. So, that means that Dr. Junge is moving my due date back to the original calculated due date of January 3rd!

They moved my due date up to December 23rd after our first ultrasound which indicated our little one was bigger than normal. Dr. Junge said that we would just wait and see towards the end which date it would be...we would either be having a normal sized baby on the 23rd....or a little bigger baby around the 3rd. Well, looks like the latter is what we are planning on now!

We go back next Monday, the 29th, to check my progress, and then we will likely go to the hospital later that week for a non-stress test. That will check to make sure the placenta is still doing it's job. Based on that, we'll have a new plan. Unless of course, I go into labor this week!

So, it's a waiting game now! Matt and I are planning a "just us" Christmas! We will miss our families tons, but it is nice to have a lot of downtime before our lives get very, very busy. Something tells us that in a few weeks we will wish we had more of these days... :-)

So, our plans for Christmas are as follows:
1. Cook a huge dinner
2. Watch a lot of football
3. Go to the movies (twice - there's a lot of good movies out)
4. Sleep a lot!
