Fun at Taylor's Birthday Party

We had a blast at Taylor's Birthday Party! We got some great pictures too - even a family picture. It was shocking all 5 of us were in one spot long enough for a picture. :-) Maddie wore one of the outfits Taylor gave her, which I L.O.V.E. Maddie kept the hat on all evening- I was shocked. It might be because I gushed a little too much when she got dressed. She was just so darn cute. ;-)

Happy Birthday Taylor!!

The Bigs...with the Little

September 20th was Cameron's original due date... Instead, he is 3 weeks old and hanging out with his brother and sister. In an amazing Kodak moment, we got them all in their Big Sister/Big Brother/Little Brother shirts and sitting all in the same place. In real life, it only lasted 30 seconds, but we got a picture. :-)

Family picture time!

So, the family picture taking experience was less than pleasant...  :-)

We FINALLY got one (after many, many tries) where:
1.  Everyone was looking in the general direction of the camera
2.  Maddie and Caden weren't half off the bed
3.  Maddie and Caden weren't poking at one another
4.  Mom and Dad didn't look so stressed that we didn't feel we should post the picture.

One other note I made is that Matt has finally been kicked off the bed.  In Caden and Maddie's pictures (to the right of the blog) Matt got to sit on the bed.  Not anymore!  I wonder who will be kicked off when we have #4?

Just kidding.

Maybe.

Caden-ism and Cheryl's visit

We brought Cameron to Cheryl's this week so she could meet her newest baby :-)

While we were there, Caden pats my belly and says "do you have another one in there?"

No sweetie, I do not. :-)

Here is a picture of Cheryl and Mike meeting Cameron!

Aunt Jen and Uncle DJ Visit

Aunt Jen and Uncle DJ visited this week, and the kids had so much fun with them. :-) They took Caden and Maddie to the spray park and we had a campfire in the backyard. It was so great to have them stay with us!

Come back to visit soon Aunt Jen and Uncle DJ!!

One week stats

Cameron had his first doctor appointment today!

Our peanut's one week stats:
Height - 19" (20%)
Weight - 5 lb 6 oz (5%)
Head - 13" (10%)

Cameron is doing great for being 3 weeks early and should bulk up just fine. Dr Juarbe is such an amazing doctor, and is fantastic with all of our kids. He said even though Cameron was early, he has a great personality and a great environment which will allow him to thrive. It's amazing how insightful and knowledgeable Dr Juarbe is - answering all of our questions and discussing the latest medical studies with us. We are very lucky to have him caring for our children.

Cameron's Grandparents

Here are some pictures of Cameron with Grammy Callender, and Grandma and Pap Pap Frank!

Look who visited from Indy!!

We were so surprised and excited to see the Kerns on Friday! Caden was especially excited to see his buddy Jackson. :-)

Cameron Robert Callender

It's a boy!!

Cameron surprised us and didn't even make it to the C-Section that was originally planned for today, August 31st!

On Wednesday the 29th, Matt and I were both working from home when I started having contractions.  We didn't let it go very long because of the Placenta previa that I had.  Around 4:30, we went into the hospital, our doctor showed up and decided that we would go right to surgery.

It only took about an hour after that decision was made and I was ready to go into the OR.  Having a C-Section was a surreal experience - no labor and no pain.  Not only did I not have any pain, but I couldn't feel anything due to the spinal block.  They were adjusting my legs right in front of me, and it looked like they were moving someone else's legs around - I still felt like my legs were lying flat!  THAT was weird.

My doctor was so fantastic, Cameron was born only a couple minutes after surgery started.  We didn't know the gender, so Dr. Werner yelled out "Well - it's not a girl!" :-) That was followed by a number of newborn yells, which was so relieving - considering he was early.  His lungs were strong - the steroids I had a few weeks ago did their job.  :-)

At that point, Matt followed Cameron into the nursery to get checked out and cleaned up.  I had doctors and nurses all around me prepared for a significant surgery - due to the previa, but hoping the opposite.

The removal of the placenta - the most risky part - went very well.  It pretty much was the best case possible.  No hemorrhaging, and they were able to put me back together rather quickly - in about 20 minutes!

My doctor is beyond fantastic, so skilled, and took very good care of me.  When it was all over, we realized we were both so relieved it went well, we both shed a few tears.  There aren't many doctors out there who will hug their patients after surgery - I'm so lucky to have one that does.  :-)

We were all back in the room about a half hour after the surgery started!

That night we just enjoyed our new baby boy and our happiness due to the surgery going so well and Cameron being perfectly healthy.

Cameron is calling, so I will type more later!

This is a picture of the three kids and I.  We didn't get a family picture just yet - Matt could only get us.  That will be the goal today - if all three kids cooperate.
