However, I believe I will have more time on my hands now....I'm currently "bedrested" until Baby #3 is delivered - which is planned for August 31st. Less than 3 weeks to go...can't wait. I have only been on bedrest since Wednesday, and I'm already totally over it. :-)
I'm on bedrest because I was diagnosed with Placenta Previa, a fluke condition for me, since I didn't really have any complicating factors to bring it on. Only about 1 in 200 pregnancies actually have previa persist until delivery. I'm a lucky gal. Basically, I am high risk, and will need to deliver via C-section. They will take baby 3 weeks early because the longer I go, the higher risk of spontaneous hemorrhaging. (Thus, the bedrest here at the end).
Gosh, lots of time to update the blog.
Most importantly, the baby appears to be very healthy and big - already measuring 4.5 pounds at 32 weeks. That puts it about 8.5 -9 lbs at birth if I had gone full term. Matt's genes taking over again. :-) So, maybe I should be thankful.
Caden and Maddie are fantastic, and tons of fun. Caden goes back and forth between wanting a boy or a girl. Maddie doesn't know what is about to happen. :-) Matt and I just can't wait to have baby in our arms and me free from the worry of the previa.
Here's some shots of the kids over the last few months:
Caden is a hilarious, smart, fun little boy, and fills up our days with laughter. His vocabulary is exploding, saying things every day that are new to us. He reasons with us, challenges us, pouts when we correct him, and is generally extremely happy and loving towards us and his little sis. He talks about his friends at Cheryl's House, and tells us what he does every day. Including in the report if anyone got in trouble that day. He has gotten extremely good on his bike - Daddy will take Caden out on his 2-wheel (with training wheels) for 2-3 mile rides around the neighborhood. Maddie will be in tow on the back of Daddy's bike. :-) He started skating this past winter, and we'll be signing him up for Hockey in the fall.
Maddie is summed up in one word: Headstrong. She is going to be impatient, opinionated, and very smart. She is absorbing everything around her - and understands everything we say. She is very vocal when she isn't getting her way. She makes us laugh because she is SO brave. At the waterpark, she'll run headfirst into the biggest spray - no fear at all. She'll try everything her brother is doing, way before Caden did it when he was her age. She is a happy toddler - as long as she is doing what she wants to do at that moment. :-) She's just starting to talk - has close to 10 words now (hi, bye, mama, dada, puppy, baby, diaper, night-night, etc). But don't let her fool you - she understands much more. We'll mention the word "bath" in the kitchen, she'll be in the family room, but she'll get up, run to the stairs and shake the gate until we let her upstairs into the bathroom. :-)
Having a camping dinner in the backyard - mountain pies and s'mores!
Maddie had to go into her big girl bed earlier than Caden went into his Big Boy bed because baby #3 is coming so soon. She ended up on the floor most nights. And, although she is still in her new room - we do have her in the pack n play to help with the adjustment.
Jen and DJ got married in April, and Caden and I were both in the wedding. Caden was a most adorable ring bearer, and I was the prego bridesmaid who made excellent use of the flowers to hide the baby bump in the pictures. :-) We had such a fun weekend
Because of the previa, I had to miss Robert and Becca's wedding - terribly disappointing. However, everyone sent us live pictures and video from their iPhones, which Matt and I streamed on our TV. It was almost like we were there. :-)
Congratulations Robert and Becca!
That's the updates for now! I'll hope to be on this a little bit more frequently...now that I'm putting a permanent dent in our couch. :-)
